Summary
The Account Executive identifies and cultivates relationships with residential, commercial, and industrial customers to drive sales of telecommunications services, equipment solutions, and recurring revenue products. This role collaborates across departments to meet strategic growth goals and deliver exceptional customer service while contributing to community engagement initiatives.
The employee shall cooperate and work with all other departments for the maximum benefit of the company or as directed by the Chief Business Development Officer.
The employee will work 40 hours a week, making and securing product sales throughout the company’s service territory. The compensation is to be determined by the General Manager/CEO according to guidelines approved by the Board of Directors.
The employee shall adhere to approved published company policies and receive all benefits and privileges cited therein.
This employee must possess an exceptional positive attitude and have the ability to work and get along with other employees. As the opportunity arises, be able to meet with and deliver exceptional customer service to Polar’s internal and external customers.
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Establishes and develops enduring strategic relationships with the Company’s customers engaging in consultative sales practices.
- Enhances and promotes the Company’s perceived image as a valued, full-service communications provider.
- Maintains major account management and engage with top 100 businesses a minimum of once per year.
- Is responsible for the sale of all of the products and services for the company throughout its service territory.
- Develops leads and maintains positive, productive relationships with residential and business customers to attract and retain desired sales volume to increase usage and knowledge of telecommunications services, and to expand awareness of new and enhanced service offerings.
- Analyzes business customers technology needs. Prepares and presents proposals to business customers for new and/or additional products and services.
- Prepares sales contracts and all associated documents required in the completion of a sale.
- Provides timely service implementation and follow-up on sales to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Provide reports of sales and/or losses to the Chief Business Development Officer.
- Assists management in determining company product needs and requests. Conducts continuing appraisal of selling prices and market penetration and makes recommendations for improvements.
- Provides assistance and proficient direction on sales of services and products to business customers.
- Responsible for gathering information and preparing the database for the installation of systems. Responsible for customer training required for systems and follow-up as needed.
- Participates in area trade shows and other community events held throughout the year.
- Presents a professional manner, personally, and as an image of the company. Communicates and promotes organizational values within the community. Manages all economic development activities to promote development and growth of new business.
- Develops good client relationships by representing Polar with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
- Monitors economic developments in service area affecting existing and potential subscribers. Maintains close ties with communities to evaluate potential demand for new services and to monitor emergence of competitors. Makes contact and follows leads with large business users and potential customers.
*Completes other duties as assigned by Chief Business Development Officer and General Manager/CEO.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of telecommunications industry.
- Strong understanding of voice, data networking and video services.
- Considerable ability to communicate well in a positive and friendly manner both in writing and in person.
- Strong negotiation skills and techniques with advanced reasoning ability identifying problems and resolutions.
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks and projects while maintaining a well organized process with frequent interruptions.
- Considerable knowledge of the Company’s billing and financial software. This is used to maintain marketing/sales database and provide support to technicians.
- Skill in operating various office equipment such as personal computer, various software programs, general office equipment, and telephone systems.
- Skill in reading and interpreting technical documents and information.
- Considerable knowledge of English, spelling, arithmetic and vocabulary.
- Considerable skill in communicating expectations with requests and projects and follow through to completion while maintaining efficiencies.
- Considerable ability to communicate well with a positive and friendly manner, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail and the ability to maintain memory for an attention to details.
Education and/or experience
Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in a Business/Marketing from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience in sales/marketing field; or equivalent combination of both. Experience in technical sales preferred. Proficient knowledge and use of computers is required.
Certificates, licenses, registrations
A valid and insurable driver’s license in good standing under the Company’s insurance plan is required.
