MLGC and Polar Communications Announce Acquisition

MLGC, LLC a subsidiary of Griggs County Telephone Company with their corporate office located in Enderlin, ND announced today the details of the sale of their Northwood, ND assets to Polar Communications, headquartered in Park River, ND.

MLGC and Polar will be working during the next few months to transition customers to the Polar Communications network. Completion of the acquisition is planned for late October pending regulatory approval.

“We believe this transition will be positive for both companies and the community. Polar has an excellent reputation in serving the surrounding area and already has a fiber presence through the exchange of Northwood. MLGC will continue focusing on our fiber deployments around Kindred and just south of Fargo, North Dakota. We look forward to working with them on this transition,” said Tyler Kilde, President of Griggs County Telephone Co.

“We’re looking forward to providing the Northwood MLGC customers the high quality service they’ve come to expect from a local telecommunications provider. It is Polar’s plan to offer Northwood customers the same fiber-to-the-home network we provide throughout our service territory, ” said Karl Blake, CEO of Polar Communications.

Polar Communications has been the leading provider of phone, data, video, and advanced business solutions to Northeast North Dakota since 1952, serving more than 8,000 customers in 32 communities.

Griggs County Telephone Company is a fourth-generation family owned telecommunications company established in 1906 serving 10 communities in Eastern North Dakota.
