Polar Communications is a member of the Rural Development Finance Corporation (RDFC). As a result, communities in our service area were eligible to apply for a grant of up to
$2,000 for community-based projects. RDFC is making these funds available in order that more people become aware of their larger loan program that funds community-based projects and non-profit entities with low interest loans.
RDFC has recently granted $1,000 to Market on Main. Market on Main is owned by the City of Edinburg. The grant funds will go towards costs related to repairing the sidewalk and fixing the roof of the grocery store.
The other $1,000 RDFC grant went to Sunshine Kids day care center in Park River. Sunshine Kids daycare is a licensed daycare and preschool. Grant funds will be used to replace worn items such as flooring, cots, and highchairs, and also provide staff with opportunities to attend professional training.
