Current fiber projects

Mayville/Hatton Area:

  • Drop crew is working in the Hatton area.
  • A 2nd drop crew started on July 8th and is working north out of Portland.
  • Main line crews are working on the main route from Hatton to Mayville this week.


Arvilla Town:

  • Splicers will be finishing splicing and testing this week
  • Once we receive possession of the new fiber plant, we will start the process of customer turnups 


Minto/Manvel Area:

  • Locates have been happening in the town of Warsaw, this is for duct installation which has started this week.
  • A main line crew will be starting in the northern area approximately week of July 22nd

Yes, an Optical Network Terminal (ONT). An ONT contains the electronics that convert light pulses from a fiber optic line to electronic pulses that power voice, broadband and streaming video services.

Yes, Polar will mount equipment, optimize WiFi and install data wiring inside your home or business. Our Customer Service Representatives will contact you prior to set up an appointment with you.

This enclosure will be located on the outside of your home or business. It measures 16 H x 13 W x 4 1/2 D. Voice customers will also have an additional box installed inside your home or business which will power the unit. It will also contain a back-up battery in case of power outage. Broadband Internet only customers will have a power transformer to power the ONT.

Installation can take anywhere from 1-3 hours, depending on the home or business. An average install should take about 1 1/2 hours.

Yes, the additional work on the property will include installation of fiber from the alley to the side of the home, splicing of fiber and cut over to the electronics that will include voice, broadband and video streaming services.
